Well it has been a year. Honestly, it has been a lot. I feel we have all been really tried and tested to limits we didn’t know we could reach. Yet here we are, standing again as the New Year creeps ever closer.

I was so very ready for 2023 to begin. I was hopeful for new challenges and changes. Boy did I get them. I think 2023 saw some of the most extreme highs and lows I have ever experienced. I made life changing decisions. I took a path of believing in myself. Now looking back, do I regret it? No. I couldn’t have carried on the way I was going. I wouldn’t be here to write this now. Am I where I thought I would be? No. But I guess that is the thing about life. You never know what is going to happen. You just have to look at your options, and take the leap.

Even though it brings a lump to my throat thinking back over this year, I still believe in myself. I will work harder. I will always have hope. I will continue to plant and water the seeds.

So for 2023, I thank you for the many lessons you taught me. I know I needed to learn from you. To 2024, please go a little easier on everyone. To anyone reading this, remember that you never know what another person is going through, so be kind. It’s been a lot this year. But I truly believe that the best days are yet to come. So I take a deep breath and I welcome a New Year.
