Make yourself comfortable, and start to notice how your body connects with the surface beneath you.
How your shoulder blades feel where they meet the surface. How the back of your legs are completely supported, allowing your feet to roll out to the sides, feeling completely relaxed.
Notice how the back of your head touches the pillow, and acknowledge how supported and relaxed this feels.
Take a deep breath in, and as you do so draw your shoulder blades up to your ears, and as you exhale, allow them to melt down, creating space and releasing any tension you were holding here.
As you inhale, relax your tongue down into the bottom of your mouth, and as you exhale relax your jaw.
Take another deep breath in, and exhale fully through your mouth with a sigh.
Allow thoughts that float in, acknowledge them, and then let them go.
Inhale deeply, and exhale with a sigh.
Inhale deeply, and exhale with a sigh, bringing yourself into the present moment.
With each inhale, feel your chest rise, and with each exhale, feel the relaxation wash over your body.
Feel yourself becoming grounded. Imagine roots growing from your spin, along the back of your legs and down your arms, weaving into the nurturing earth, filling you, making you feel nourished and grounded.
Take a deep breath in, and as you exhale, feel calm and relaxed. Feel nourished and supported.
Bring your awareness to your stomach. Observe as on your inhale it expands and on your exhale it contracts.
With each breathe, imagine a warm wave of calm relaxation washing over you. All tensions floating away into the distance, leaving you at peace.
Bring your awareness back to the breathe, feel the strength and power that runs through you, for allowing yourself to slowdown, to feel grounded, to relax, and to feel calm.
Thank yourself for taking this time to nourish and nurture your mind, body and spirit.
Thank you.
